Survey for all who have an interest in Day Opportunities

Context: Day Opportunities are important in supporting people with a disability, mental health difficulty  and/or older people to maintain and develop new skills, prevent social isolation, support inclusion in their local communities.

These services are currently being recommissioned. Our aim is to improve the services to people who need care and support in a more person-centred way that gives more choice and control in their lives. We want to build on the best of what we currently offer, adapting to meet the expectations of our current and future customers and their families.

We believe day opportunities are about supporting the lives of people so that they can achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives in the way that they choose. There are a number of people in Cumbria who may not be receiving the best service to suit their lifestyle. We want to enable people to be truly part of their communities as a valued citizen who has a valuable contribution to offer their community.

We want to have the right community opportunities available for people who need care and support, so that:
  • people can take part in a range of community activities.
  • activities are available in the day, evening and weekends
  • there are local activities that minimise travel for people.

We also want to support people to be more independent in how they get to and from activities and where possible self-direct their travel arrangements.

Purpose: This survey is to find out your views on the current services and your ideas to improve the quality of the day opportunities. Your views will help us to do this.

The deadline for completing the survey is 19th June at midnight and it will take around 15 minutes to complete
