APP’s recent YouGov survey found that antenatal education providers rarely discuss postpartum psychosis (PP). We need your help to understand more about the reasons for this.

I think mental health is as important to discuss as physical health

I think expectant parents should know about risks after birth so they can be prepared

I think it would be frightening to experience an illness like PP without having heard of it before

I know that women can experience PP ‘out of the blue’ with no mental health history so it’s important all women know about it

The symptoms can develop and escalate very quickly straight after birth

I want to support partners to know the symptoms they should be concerned about

I know that PP is severe and in some cases can lead to suicide / maternal death

I think all families should know how to get help quickly
