Study title: Easy Climb, redesigning the climbing shoe
You are cordially invited to take part in the user research carried out by Taylor Heywood as part of the final design project at the Design Department, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London.
What is the purpose of the study? Why have been invited to participate? This study aims to investigate the needs of the consumer when choosing climbing shoes. You are invited to participate because you have experience wearing, using and buying climbing shoes. Therefore, the researcher would like to hear your opinions and experience regarding this product.
Do I have to take part? Your participation is completely voluntary.
What will happen to me if I take part? What do I have to do? You will be asked to answers a number of open questions, which will help the researcher understands your perceptions toward climbing shoes such as the level of satisfactory and areas for further improvement. If you have any questions, please feel free to clarify them with the researcher.
What are the possible disadvantages and risks of taking part? What are the indemnity arrangements? The study is considered low risk. It is very unlikely to cause any financial loss/burden to participants. No sensitive and personal question is included. It should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
What if something goes wrong? You can decide to leave the study at any point.
Will my taking part in this study be kept confidential? The information will be used of academic purposes only and treated as highly confidential. All answers will be anonymised. The results will not be publicly published nor made available outside of the university.
What will happen to the results of the research study? The findings will be presented to the academic staff in the Design Department, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London, only.
Who is organising and funding the research? Who has reviewed the study? The questions have been developed in consultation with academic staff of the Design Department, College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London.
