Local evidence shows there are concerns around harassment and intimidation of women (including trans women, non-binary and gender diverse people) by men, on the street and in public spaces of North Trafford - ie the Stretford, Gorse Hill and Old Trafford areas.
GreaterSport, along with partner agencies, is carrying out work to explore how we can tackle this issue by making local streets and public spaces safer and more welcoming for women and girls to get out into and lead active lives.
We’d like your input to this survey if you:
- are aged 18 years and older
- live, work/study or regularly travel through or visit North Trafford
We'd really like men to complete this survey too, their input is important on all these questions.
One of the people who responds will be drawn at random to receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher. The survey will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 11 January 2023.
We know other forms of harassment and intimidation occur, and affect men. However, in this survey we are particularly interested in violence against women and girls (VAWG), by men, because of its frequency, perceived social acceptability and associated victim blaming. Research also suggests making the streets safer for women makes them safer for everyone - and that everyone has a role to play in making this a reality.
Throughout this survey, when we refer to women we’re including trans women, people who identify as women, non-binary and gender diverse people.
