North Berwick community shelter consultation

The North Berwick Community shelter project aims to build a covered space outdoors which the whole community can access and will want to use. At this stage we are looking for the community to decide on 2 sites. One short-term site which we envisage could be built reasonably quickly and one long-term site which would require more time in planning due to the locations. The 4 sites which are on offer have been suggested by the community at our community conversation open meeting and were whittled down by the shelter working group with advice from East Lothian Council Amenities department and Community Wardens. The working group listed the pro's and con's of each site.

In this survey you will be asked to select your preferred sites and will be able to see the pro's & con's that the working group have listed so far.

Once the short-term and long-term sites have been chosen we will begin to invite the community to give their ideas on both sites e.g, how you would like the shelter to look, would you like the shelter to have local history or something different Incorporated into it.

The project currently does not have any funding but we are aware of possible funding streams & will be fundraising locally. If you have any advice regarding funding or would like to join the working group we would love to hear from you. Contact; lauren.cowie@northberwickyouthproject.org.uk
