An Introduction to Arts and Health: Research, Policy and Practice

'An Introduction to Arts and Health' is a one-day event open to early career researchers (including undergraduate and graduate students and those within 8 years of completing their PhD). It is designed to provide an overview of research, policy and practice in the field.
WHEN: Monday 16th April 2018, 9.30am-4.30pm
WHERE: Institute of Education, 20 Bedford Way, London WC1H 0AL
WHO: Undergraduate and graduate students and early career researchers (within 8 years of completing a PhD)
COST: This is a free event and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
The event will include:
A historical overview of how the arts, health and medicine have been intertwined over the last 40,000 years.
A review of research findings from fields including psychology, medicine, sociology, neuroscience, biology, epidemiology and anthropology.
An insight into some of the key political developments including the All Party Parliamentary Group Report 'Creative Health' and the launch of the new national Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance
An introduction to a range of arts and health projects happening across UCL.
Participation in this event is by application only and is limited to 70 spaces. To apply, please complete the registration form below. We will be reviewing all registration forms and contacting eligible individuals to offer them spaces. Please note we will be giving priority to those undertaking study or research at universities. If you are not based at a university or are neither a student nor an early career researcher but are interested in attending, you can register your details. However, you will be placed on a waiting list and your space will be confirmed if there is availability 2 weeks prior to the event taking place.
