This survey if intended for people who make referrals to befriending & social activies.

This section explains the background to IsLAND and why we are asking you to take part in this survey.

IsLAND is a National Lottery funded project which aims to widen the range of organisations providing befriending and social connectedness activities across Derbyshire (outside Derby City) in order to reduce loneliness and social isolation by increasing and improving access to quality services. IsLAND builds on the work of the Derbyshire Trusted Befriending Network.

The Covid-19 crisis, its subsequent lockdowns and restrictions, has had a profound impact on the way many organisations provide services and support people. Now that these restrictions are starting to lift and there is a gradual return to pre-pandemic life, we want to find out what the befriending and social connectedness landscape across Derbyshire now looks like.

As someone who supports people who need access to befriending and social connectedness activities and makes referrals to organisations which provide these services, we want to know your views about the impact of the pandemic and what is needed for the future.

We would be grateful if you would take a few minutes, it should take no more than 10, to answer this questionnaire. All of the questions are optional but the fuller your answers the better the picture we can build.

The survey will close at 6pm on Friday 25th June.

For the purposes of this consultation exercise we are using the following definitions:

- Befriending is activity where a volunteer befriender is matched with a service user on a one to one basis

- Social Connectedness is group activity where people come together through shared circumstances or interests

Thank you.
