Research &Us® : Infants’, Children’s and Young People’s Child Health Research Charter |
2017- Case Study Submission
In 2016, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health published Research &Us: Infants’, Children’s and Young People’s Child Health Research Charter (Charter), providing guiding principles for involving children and young people in research and associated How To / What You Need To Know guides. You can view the Research &Us® documents at www.rcpch.ac.uk/cyp-research-charter
We would appreciate your support in completing the case study template below to share your examples of where you have involved children, young people, parents or carers in child health research or utilised the Research &Us® Charter in starting the conversation locally, in training or in other ways to improve child health research. We are looking for examples where Research &Us® has supported;
· Raising awareness of children and young people’s involvement in child health research (e.g. requesting a personalised version of the charter, displaying in wards, adding onto intranet)
·Developing skills, knowledge or understanding of children and young people’s involvement in child health research (e.g. including in training, having RCPCH staff run sessions or presentations, developing new templates or processes based on the charter principles, accessing support from the RCPCH Children and Young People’s Engagement Team / Research and Evaluation Team)
·Creating new opportunities for involvement of children and young people in child health research (e.g. developing a children and young people’s advisory group, working with established groups to involve children and young people’s voice)
PLUS examples of fantastic tools, websites, activities, approaches or models that could be added to the Research &Us® resources download.
We know that the way that people access information using a range of devices and online methods where time is tight, so we will be creating an online hub which supports researchers, allied healthcare professionals and paediatricians to access information in a way that is relevant and user friendly. We would like case studies to be clear, concise and have good links for further information.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with the Research and Evaluation Team via research@rcpch.ac.uk.Case studies will be uploaded on a rolling basis. For the first phase, please submit your case study by June 25th 2017 – after this date we will aim to update the site every 6 weeks with new submissions.
