Brexit and its impact on the arts sector, 2019 |
Are you getting the information you need as we approach the next Brexit deadline?
In October 2018, Scottish Contemporary Art Network and Federation of Scottish Theatre carried out a survey on the impact that Brexit might have on the arts sector in Scotland. It showed that more than a quarter of respondents were considering leaving as a result of Brexit. With less than three months until the next Brexit deadline, we want to re-take the temperature of the sector, and to feed back any new information to the Scottish and UK governments.
Brexit is the impending withdrawal of the UK from the European Union (EU), following a referendum held in 2016. The UK government has set a deadline of October 31, 2019 to leave the EU.
The questions in this survey are largely the same as those issued in 2018. The reason for this is because we need to benchmark results to properly show any changes. There are some additional questions relating to information on Brexit and a space at the end of the survey for you to describe any impacts the ongoing political situation around Brexit have affected you.
Please do forward this survey on to your colleagues, we would like to reach as many relevant people as we can.
The survey should take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and will be open until Monday 2nd September.
Please note, the survey is totally anonymous and we will not ask for your name, workplace or contact details at any point.
This survey has been commissioned by the Scottish Contemporary Art Network, the Federation of Scottish Theatre and partners and is being carried out by independent research origination Ruthless Research, in line with the Market Research Society code of conduct. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Ruth (ruth@ruthlessresearch.co.uk)
