Free Car Parking Trial - Alive After Five

Aberdeen Inspired is the business improvement organisation tasked with boosting Aberdeen City Centre's local business economy through increased footfall, customer spend and dwell time.  As part of this effort, their aim is to create an early evening economy under the banner of 'Alive After Five', a model that has worked well in many other UK cities where shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, cultural and entertainment venues as well as those already open during this period.

In support of this aim, Aberdeen City Council is offering free carparking each evening and overnight after 5pm across four car parks; Chapel Street, Denburn, Frederick Street and West North Street between 1st October 2018 and 31st March 2019.  The Bon Accord Centre created an identical offer for Harriet Street and Loch Street carparks, although their trial ended at the end of December 2018.

The car parking trial will be evaluated upon its conclusion but looking to the future we are now canvassing the views of businesses in the area to inform the next steps.
