OLD! Validation of the COM-B Physical Activity Measure - Factor Analysis

About spear’s research

The Centre for Sport, Physical Education & Activity Research (spear) is part of Canterbury Christ Church University. spear is working in collaboration with GGFit Ltd to validate a new questionnaire that aims to measure an individuals' capability, opportunity and motivation to manage their levels of physical activity. We greatly appreciate your assistance with the research and the information we gather will help shape future physical activity programmes.

What does the research involve?

COM-B Physical Activity Measure

The measure includes 59 items which relate to your perceptions of physical activity. The measure asks you to respond to each item on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from strongly disagree to strongly agree, with a neutral point offered.

We are inviting you to take the time to complete the measure. The questions are split into five sections, one targeting each component level (capability, opportunity and motivation), a section for supplementary questions asking about physical activity levels, and a final section asking some demographic questions.

We predict that the measure will take approximately 10-15 minutes.
