Advance: Visual Artist - 'Expressions of Interest'
Calling all creative freelancers in Wakefield!
We are seeking for visual artists of all disciplines to benefit from a brand new, exciting programme as part of the Creative Wakefield Advance programme.
Creative UK has partnered up with The Art House to close the gap in local provision of professional development support for freelance visual artists in the Wakefield District. This programme seeks to support the development of visual artists. We understand the urgent need for community and peer support amongst artists, following a challenging two years of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aimed at early career and emerging artists, this programme provides access to expertise and guidance across a range of skills and topics, a professional peer group to support an often-isolated group, and a clear pathway into further mentoring and support.
The new programme will run from May 2022 over an 8-week period with fully funded workshops and masterclasses receiving approx. 14 hours of support in total. All sessions will be in person and take place in The Art House in Wakefield.
The programme will offer participants the opportunity to address universal issues, as well as dig into individual challenges. Providing a framework to engage with the wider creative sector in Wakefield, the programme will also empower artists to capitalise on the exciting growth in cultural and creative opportunities in Wakefield.
