The UnMuseum is a project that seeks to reimagine the very essence of a Museum!
We’re Louisa Adjoa Parker and Louise Boston-Mammah, and we’re working with the Black South West Network (BSWN) as Programming and Engagement consultants on the development phase of their UnMuseum project.
Our mission is to create spaces that reinterpret cultural heritage, exploring what this means to Black and racially minoritised individuals and communities in the Southwest.
We are looking to create both a physical space (at the Coach House in Bristol) and a digital space where Black and racially minoritised members of the public along with creatives and cultural producers can share objects and stories relating to their cultural heritage. This might be done through exhibits, performances and more; we want to create spaces where people can curate through their own lens, for authentic expression.
We would love to hear your thoughts, to help us respond to your needs and build on your aspirations for the UnMuseum.
