Participant Information Leaflet for Survey Participants

Study title: Growing Up in a Pandemic: health behaviours and the impact of COVID-19 on health inequalities among young people in Ireland
You are being invited to take part in a research study to be carried out by Dr Shona Lee at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). The study’s short title is ‘TeenPath Covid’, and will be referred to by this title throughout this information sheet.

Before you decide whether or not you wish to take part, you should read the information provided here carefully. You should clearly understand the risks and benefits of taking part in this study so that you can make a decision that is right for you. This process is known as ‘Informed Consent’.

You don't have to take part in this study. If after you have read the information you decide not to take part, it won’t affect you or anyone else. You can change your mind about taking part and withdraw from the study at any time by contacting us at teenpath@rcsi.ie. You don't have to give us a reason.  If you do opt out after completing the survey, whatever information we have about you will be destroyed.

We are entering respondents who complete our whole survey into a prize draw to win a €100 One4All gift voucher. Please ensure you answer all the questions and enter your email address at the end of the questionnaire to be entered into the draw. The winner will be contacted once the survey closes at the end of August 2023.
