Introduction of a Tool Library

We at MESS (Mull Environmentally Sensitive Solutions) are working on a business planning exercise to look at introducing a Tool Library to our community in Mull. This would be set in a new workshop. We are looking to offer the use of hand/ power tools on a library type arrangement with an annual membership fee, offer workshop slots for you to come and book a workbench and use the facilities including the tools and larger non portable equipment such as centre lathes and larger drills. In addition, we are looking at running courses on up-cycling using reused material from the island. There are many Tool Library's already establish around Scotland that have proven to be a huge success creating a community of people who are interested in DIY and craftwork, who may also be keen to help support the centre.
