Repeat prescription ordering process review - patient survey
Background
A repeat prescription is a prescription for a regular long term medication that can be issued by your doctor without seeing the patient each time.
A repeat prescription can be ordered in a number of ways, for example;
- Directly from your GP practice - Through a Community Pharmacy Repeat Prescription Ordering Services
- Through specialist home delivery companies.
Why are we conducting this review?
The Repeat Prescription Ordering Service is important to patients that want a convenient and accessible service and is particularly useful for certain groups of patients. However, where this Service is not managed correctly, it can cause frustration to patients and doctors as well as increasing the risk of mistakes being made and medicines being wasted.
This review is now being undertaken in response to recent findings, that suggest that current Repeat Prescribing Ordering Services could be more efficient and lead to a reduction in excessive medicines waste. We have a duty of care to ensure good quality, safe, and cost effective NHS services for Bromley residents.
Why are you being asked to comment?
We would like your feedback on how you currently order your repeat prescriptions as well as what works well and less well. This will help inform proposed changes to the current Repeat Prescribing Ordering Service .
If you order prescriptions for yourself or on behalf of someone else, please complete the following questionnaire to help shape the review and future redesign.
