SWL GP Mentorship Scheme

Applications are open for the SWL GP Mentor Scheme!

Are you on the SWL SPIN N2P Fellowship scheme and or within your first year qualifying?

Are you a mid-career GP and need some advice on career choices including deciding to take on a partnership role?

Are you a new GP partner, including those on the New to Partnership Payment Scheme?

Are you a GP on the National GP Retention Scheme who is transitioning to a regular GP role outside of the scheme?

Are you a locum GP looking to take on a salaried role?
 
Are you a GP thinking of returning to the profession?
 
If any of these scenarios apply and you would like mentoring support from an experienced SWL GP then please complete this application form.
  • Sessions may be conducted virtually or face to face and will typically be 6 sessions spread over a year.
  • Sessions will be arranged at a time that is mutually convenient to both the GP Mentor and Mentee.

SWL GP Mentor Scheme - Memorandum of Understanding

I, the undersigned agree and acknowledge my role and responsibilities as a GP Mentee participating in the SWL Supporting Mentors Scheme 2023.

I commit to:
Attending upto six mentoring sessions arranged at a mutually convenient tome with the GP Mentor.

Communicating with the mentor if you are unable to attend a session with at least 2 days notice.

Support programme evaluation and feedback, to contribute to the ongoing development of the SWL Supporting Mentors Scheme.

Confidentiality of the sessions, sessions are confidential and will be related to personal and professional career development, not clinical competence.

Reporting any concerns so they can be escalated.  Concerns or queries may be raised with nisha.patel16@nhs.net or contact your local Training Hub Lead.
