West Chiltington Housing Survey

Housing Survey 2018

As you will be aware, West Chiltington PC has been working on producing a Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish. A key part of this is identifying where housing should be located.

Two sites have been identified. One at Steele Close has consent for 15 homes, 14 of which will be affordable.  A further site at the current Moto Di Marino Garage has been identified as a site for a block of up to 16 flats for the elderly (if it becomes available for development in the future).

There is considerable pressure both from Horsham DC and local developers for more sites to be allocated in the Parish.

We need to hear from you what you believe your real housing needs both now and in the future will be.

Please remember that if you identify a need then you also need to help us by suggesting where housing could be located.

Our neighbouring parishes are building significant numbers of houses all of which share services with us so it is important that we get this right.
1.Do you think we have made provision for sufficient housing in our Plan?
2.If you believe we should be allocating more land for housing where should it be located and why have you chosen that location?
3.Is there anyone in your family who doesn't currently need their own home but is likely to want one in the Parish in the next 5 years? (Consider this carefully. Will your young people want to stay in WC or move to a cheaper area with more facilities?)
4.Are there any adults living in your home who need, but currently cannot obtain, their own home in the Parish?
5.What type of property would they require?
6.Is there anyone in the property who is likely to need more manageable or sheltered accommodation in the next five years?
7.What type of property would they require?
8.Affordable housing has been provided for in the allocation at Steele Close. Have you or any of your family expressed an interest in obtaining one of these properties?
9.If flats for the elderly were provided at the Moto di Marino site would you be interested in obtaining one?
10.Will you be looking to downsize in the next five years?  If yes, what type of property would you require?
