How many new houses would you like to see put forward for your village or hamlet in the Local Plan?
affordable houses (to rent from a housing association)
one bedroom houses or flats for sale
two bedroom houses for sale
houses of any type for sale or rent
bungalows
2.
What is the name of the village or hamlet where you live?
Newnham
Littledean
Blakeney
Ruspidge/Soudley
Tustshill/Sedbury
Bream
Micheldean
Drybrook
Lydbrook
Yorkley/Pillowell/Whitecroft
3.
Tutshill/Sedbury, Bream, Mitcheldean, Drybrook, Newnham, Lydbrook and Yorkley/Pillowell/Whitecroft.
The latest stage of the Local Plan puts space for 907 new houses (plus 321 sites already in the pipeline) to be found in what it terms as major villages (listed above). The houses won't be evenly spread across these villages as some will end up with a larger share. Do you think that calling for an additional 1,228 new houses for these villages is:
Far too high - that averages at over 120 new houses per village
About right
The residents in these villages would probably welcome more
I don’t have a view
4.
The latest proposal gives new housing numbers for
small villages
, whereas before development was restricted. It calls for 692 new houses to be found among the small villages (including sites already in the pipeline). This is in addition to any sites for 5 houses or less, which are counted separately. Houses are to be concentrated in the most accessible villages, such as Littledean & Blakeney. Do you think this number is:
Far too high as a few villages will end up with most of the housing
About right
More houses would better support provision of services
I don’t have a view
5.
This proposal puts another 1,326 new homes to be built on farmland around
Lydney
, on top of the approx 1,134 al- ready allocated for Lydney. Do you think this number of houses for Lydney is:
Far too many - it will increase congestion on the A48 and pressure on services
Probably about right
more houses would encourage more facilities and employment
I don’t have a view
6.
This proposal puts another 600 new homes to be built on farmland around
Newent
, on top of the approx 376 already allocated. Do you think this number of new houses is:
Far too high considering the infrastructure problems in Newent
600 new houses is fine
more than 600 new houses would better support the town’s facilities
I don’t have a view
7.
The MoD site at
Beachley
is expected to become vacant. As previously developed land it will be a priority for regeneration. Access is poor at present. The Local Plan puts 600 new houses at Beachley and aspires to better transport links and for employment uses and some facilities on site. Do you think this number is:
Far too high because of congestion at Sedbury
Fine as there will be regeneration money to solve any problems
Too few if the site is big enough for more
I don’t have a view
8.
The Government sets the housing numbers for the Local Plan.
Cinderford
is given only another 100 new houses as it is surrounded by Forest that cannot be built on, with 569 sites not yet built out from the current plan.
Coleford
is only down for 107 new houses but another 487 are in the pipeline. If you think the numbers proposed in any of the questions above are too high or if there is a shortfall of sites somewhere that will then have to be found elsewhere, where do you think the other houses should be put? Select as many as you consider relevant:
More houses in the villages
More houses at Beachley
A new settlement if a suitable location can be found
More houses at Coleford
More houses at Newent
More houses at Lydney
I don’t know
