Stakeholder Engagement Survey - Joint Chair - East London NHS Foundation Trust
Dear Colleague
As you may know, we are currently looking to appoint a Joint Chair across East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) and North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT).
The two Trusts have been working closely for some time and throughout the COVID pandemic, and have increasingly worked in collaboration to improve patient experience. Examples include working together to ensure that all patients who need a mental health bed locally are able to access one. Both Trusts are also active partners in Integrated Care Systems and local borough partnerships in both the East of England and North East London.
There will continue to be two independent Boards for each Trust and two Councils of Governors but with one person occupying the chair of both Trusts. That means each Trust will continue to be accountable to local people through their Governors and the scrutiny of locally elected representatives.
The role is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local services and make a positive difference to our communities, whilst continuing to provide outstanding person centred and safe care to all our service users and patients.

As part of the recruitment process, it is important to hear the views of all our stakeholders – our service users and carers, our staff and members as well as others involved in our communities. Having this conversation early in the recruitment process ensures that all of us have a clear vision of the successful candidate.
Below you will find a brief questionnaire where we ask you to tell us what leadership qualities you think are most important when it comes to recruiting the Joint Chair for both Trusts. We will use this information to guide us at each stage of the selection process.
