Introduction

The small corner plot of land at the junction between the Mill yard entrance and Main street in Staveley has to many of us been affectionately referred to as Jack's Corner. It is owned by Cumbria County Council who have no future plans for it. Every few years volunteers tidy up the vegetation.
The Parish Council has the opportunity to take control of the corner and develop it. We are still in the ideas and consultation stage. Current ideas are to widen the footpath and to install a dropped kerb opposite the Butcher's shop. Then to level the site and place cycle racks, seating benches and flower beds. We have some funding already for the footpath works and would hope to be successful in obtaining grants to finish any potential works in 2019.

This is such a central and prominent site in the village that the Parish Council has decided to conduct this consultation and obtain as many ideas and opinions as possible.
