Age 16-25: Protect Landscapes in partnership with DEFRA (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs)

Survey: Protected Landscapes (16-25 year olds)

The Defra Protected Landscapes team have been doing a piece of work developing targets for National Parks and AONBs (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty). These targets will relate to their contribution towards national government ambitions (such as those in the 25 Year Environment Plan, Environment Act and Net Zero Strategy). This was announced in our government response to the Landscapes Review earlier this year.

Protected Landscapes: Protected landscapes range from lowland landscapes, such as the Cotswolds and the Norfolk Coast, to uplands such as the North Pennines and the Lake District. By having such a wide geographical range, they also contain a wide range of species that are important for nature and nature recovery
