Future of The Horton General Hospital Questionnaire

Have your say on plans for The Horton

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) is consulting on the way services are provided at the Horton General Hospital in Banbury. They have circulated a questionnaire to selected people in Banburyshire.

Their plans could take away A&E, consultant-led maternity, Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), 24 hour, 7 day a week children's ward and  intensive care.

We would like to give everyone the chance to have their say. Please take a few minutes to fill in this survey so the voice of Banburyshire patients is heard loud and clear.

There are three sections to this survey - Section One is  about  you: age, gender, postcode and employment status. Section Two is the 'Keep The Horton General' survey. Section Three is a 'Plain English' version of the OUHFT questionnaire. We didn't design this bit but we do need you to complete it as best you can. If you find it impossible to rate any of the options, you may like to leave an appropriate comment in the box on the question.

KEEP THE HORTON GENERAL QUESTIONS

5.Two of the three OUH plans for The Horton Maternity intend to replace Consultant/Senior Doctor care with Midwife-only care offering 'Home Births in Hospital.' This means there will be no one able to perform a caesarian section, use forceps or administer an epidural anaesthetic. This will result in any complicated birth being transferred to Oxford by ambulance. Any downgrading of maternity would also mean the loss of Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU). Do you support or oppose this proposal ?
6.One of the three OUH plans for The Horton is to replace A&E with GP urgent care/minor injuries unit. This will mean that any patient needing an A&E doctor will have to be transferred to Oxford by ambulance or private transport. Do you support or oppose this proposal to downgrade A&E?
7.One of the three OUH plans for The Horton would replace round the clock, consultant-led children's ward with an 8am - 10pm assessment unit. This means that any child needing overnight care would have to be transferred to Oxford. Do you support or oppose this proposal?
