Lifeboats survey

Introduction

We are seeking the views of members about lifeboats.

Please complete the survey by Friday 30th April 2021.

The results are anonymous, and will be used by RMT in our continued discussions with the MCA, other regulatory authorities and employers about lifeboats.

The survey is very short - it will only take a couple of minutes at most to complete.

1.Are you asked to descend in the lifeboat during drills?(Required.)
2.If so, have you ever refused?
3.If not, what is your employer's policy re: drills?
4.What are your fears, if any, about being lowered in the lifeboat during drills?
5.Are you aware of any regular maintenance undertaken on the lifeboats?
6.Have you noticed any potential areas which need attention in the lifeboats?
7.Has this been reported to the employer?
8.Have you been involved in and/or witnessed any accidents involving lifeboat drills?
9.What do you view as a reasonable way of undertaking lifeboat drills safely
