Tourism Impact Survey

Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire (MPDD) is continuing to work closely with other Destination Management Organisations, VisitBritain and the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) to monitor the impact that COVID-19 is having on the sector.

This short survey has been designed to capture evidence across two key areas;

(i) To highlight the gaps in the current financial measures offered to businesses
It is clear that the current financial measures offered by Government have highlighted a number of gaps, with many of you falling short of support, particularly B&Bs and those who are self-employed.

(ii) To start looking ahead to determine what recovery of the sector looks like
It is never too early to start planning for the recovery and partial recovery of the sector, guided by Government guidelines with social distancing measures still in place.

Recovery planning has started but these plans will be modified as we continue to receive further insights and gain a better understanding of the timescale we are working with, and the nature of the markets that will inform recovery the soonest.

MPDD appreciates that you are being asked to complete a number of surveys at the moment. Please understand this is necessary so that we can not only learn of the issues and challenges that the industry is facing currently, but so that we can also start looking to the future to determine a successful recovery plan on behalf of the sector.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your time given to complete these surveys.

Thank you in anticipation for your help.
