Staff  Focus Groups on the SU

Help Beds SU be the union that UoB students need

Beds SU is a student charity and, like many charities, we develop big, bold plans every few years. These long-term plans aim to improve the students' union so that it stays relevant to the needs and priorities of Bedfordshire students.

To help us develop our next plan in 2021, we want to speak to academic staff via some focus groups.

We know that our academic colleagues engage with students day-in, day-out; you know students personally and have a unique perspective on their lives as students.

Beds SU would like to hear about this valuable perspective so we can help develop the students' union in students' interests.

Below we list a range of times/dates when focus groups might take place and ask you to indicate your availability. Select all the dates/times you could be available, and you'll be asked to attend a meeting on one of those dates.

Each meeting will take place online, with a small group of academic colleagues and take approximately 45 minutes. Meetings will be chaired by the Beds SU CEO, who will be taking notes too (notes will be anonymised).
1.Of the below dates and times, please select ALL that you could attend (i.e. select the times/dates that you are free).
09:00 - 09:45
Monday, 14 December 2020
Tuesday, 15 December 2020
Thursday, 17 December 2020
2.If we were to run any focus groups in January, which days of the week and what time of day would work best for you?
3.Please provide your details:(Required.)
4.This is how we use the information you have provided in this form:
  1. We will contact you about the focus group, such as to ask you to attend a focus group at a convenient time.
Once you've submitted this form, expect to hear from Beds SU within a week about a focus group.

There are limited spaces available in the focus groups. Spaces will be allocated based upon availability, those who submitted earliest, and the diversity of staff taking part (we will try to ensure a representative sample across departments and/or campuses).

We won't use data from this form for anything else, and once the focus groups are complete we will delete these records. You find out more about how Beds SU uses your information online at www.bedssu.co.uk/dataprotection
