Overview:
BID members have told us they would like financial support to deliver projects and initiatives that benefit both their business and the city. To facilitate this Chester BID has introduced the Business Growth Grant. BID member businesses are invited to apply for a grant of up to £500 towards a project or initiative that meets at least one of the Business Growth Grant objectives.

Objective:
The objective of the scheme is to support BID members by providing funding towards a project or initiative that delivers one, or more of the following:

•Helps their business to grow.
•Drives footfall into the city.
•Increases consumer dwell time.
•Encourages consumer spend.

Eligibility:
The scheme is open to any Chester BID businesses registered to pay the BID Levy. Proposals must meet at least one of the scheme objectives.

Application Process:
There will be 2 x quarterly funding rounds with a maximum of 3 x £500 grants issued per funding round.

Applications must be made on-line, and applicants will be asked to demonstrate how their proposal meets the scheme objectives.

Applications will be judged by a panel of 2 x BID Board members and 1 x independent external representative.

Notes:
  • Only 1 application per business per year.
  • Maximum grant is £500, proof of purchase or evidence of activity may be required.
  • Grants cannot be used to cover BID Levy or general business expenses.
  • Funding for the Business Growth Grant is not derived from the BID Levy.
  • If non-levy income reduces the scheme will be paused until levels increase.
