NMW Rise Survey

The National Minimum Wage rises on the 1st April 2022. 

The Equestrian Employers Association (EEA) is investigating how these new rates will affect employers and their businesses.

The data will be used to collectively voice these concerns, and also helps us to understand how we can directly support employers through these challenges.  

We value your input and all responses are confidential.  
1.Are you aware of the up-coming rise of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) in April 2022?
2.Are you concerned about the effect the NMW increase will have on your business?
3.How many staff do you employ full or part time?
4.How many of these staff are currently paid the NMW rate? (I.e. they are not paid higher than it).
5.If you have staff who are paid at the NMW rate, have you calculated the total cost to your business of the rise on 1st April 2022?
6.If you are unsure, here is how to do the maths: 

Firstly, check the NMW rate for the age of the employee. Don't forget to check the age of the employee on their next birthday as this may result in a change to the NMW banding. 

The calculation 
Employee’s weekly hours x NMW rate = weekly rate 
Weekly rate x 52 weeks per year = annual salary 
Annual salary/12 = monthly salary
