2022 Freedom to Speak Up Guardian Foundation Training Survey

Thank you for your initial feedback related to the foundation training e-learning. We  welcome your further feedback about your overall experience of Foundation Training.  This will help us identify any learning and improvements needed.

We said that by the end of the training you would:

1.             Understand the background and broad scope of Freedom to Speak Up, why it matters and its importance in working towards a culture where speaking up is business as usual.
2.             Feel confident about what speaking up is and how to respond and support the people who come to you.
3.             Have explored common terminology used around speaking up and understand why speaking up is the preferred term.
4.             Be able to distinguish between open, confidential, and anonymous speaking up and have reflected on some speaking up cases.
5.             Appreciate the contribution the Freedom to Speak Up Guardian role makes to improve patient, service user and worker experience and safety.
6.             Understand speaking up as an aspect of learning and improving.
7.             Recognise and reflect on what might be happening in your own organisation.
8.             Understand the importance of the four Freedom to Speak Up values.
9.             Know how the National Guardian’s Office operates and how it interacts with other bodies in the NHS and wider healthcare sector.
