About our project

Pancreatic Cancer UK needs your help!

Pancreatic cancer is the toughest of cancer challenges. But in the last five years we have seen more progress than in the previous five decades.

In the next five years, we know we can step up the pace and drive this progress even further forward, transforming how we diagnose, treat and care for people with pancreatic cancer – ultimately saving lives.

As an organisation, we are committed to doing everything we can to meet our strategic goal to ensure that everyone affected by the disease is able to access the information, care and support they need to have a better quality of life

To help us achieve this goal we are currently reviewing our support service offering, and exploring how we might reach more people, in a more impactful way, with our support.

To ensure we make informed, patient-led decisions, we want to understand the experiences and opinions of pancreatic cancer patients and their families.

We want to hear from those who have used the charity’s support services, as well as those who have never been in contact with us.

There are two ways we’ll be asking people to take part:

Insight research interviews:

Over the next few weeks, we will be scheduling a series of 1 hour 1-1 interviews with people living with pancreatic cancer and their families, as well as with health professionals, to hear their opinions and experiences. To express our gratitude for your valuable time and contribution, we are pleased to offer a £25 Amazon voucher upon request. Your time and input mean a lot to us, and we want to express our sincere thanks with this small token of appreciation.

Survey:

There will also be short surveys shared in February, March, and April to confirm our findings and explore specific topics in more detail. Additionally, we'll use these surveys to gather your feedback on possible ways we could tackle some of the key challenges we found during the insight research interviews.

We will have a limit on the number of interviews we can carry out so if you don’t hear from us to participate in an interview, do keep an eye out for the surveys.

If you would be willing to share your views, please complete the short survey below and tick the relevant permission boxes and a member of the team will be in touch at the appropriate time.

To make sure we are speaking to a diverse range of people, the survey asks you to share some basic demographic and background information about yourself. This will allow us to identify and seek out perspectives and experiences that we may otherwise be missing.

Your details will be stored securely and confidentially during the course of this research, and then deleted at the end of the project.

If you wish to take part, please complete the survey before Wednesday 17th January.
