Petition - Post Office services in our community
Local Post Office branches are so important for people in our community. This petition was originally launched when the closures of Hoyland Post Office in July 2019 and Darfield in November 2019 were followed by the news that Wombwell Post Office was to close on 27th July 2020. The branch in Wombwell will now not be closing, with the Post Office remaining in Heron Foods under a temporary postmaster until a new location can be found.
On each occasion, the Post Office have provided assurances that the closures would be temporary, and they would attempt to find a new location to maintain services in these areas. I welcome the news that the Post Office in Wombwell will remain open, but I remain concerned that services have not yet been restored in Hoyland or Darfield.
