Level 6 Integrated Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeship Research |
In an effort to support the roll out of the new Level 6 Integrated Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeship we are conducting research to establish demand for the qualification in areas which are currently underserved in professional Youth Work Training. The results will be shared with local training providers to enable them to make informed decisions about whether to run the Level 6 Integrated Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeship. The survey should take less than 5 minutes, and your responses will directly affect the development of Youth Work training in your area.
The Level 6 Integrated Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeship requires that organisations employ apprentices for at least 30 hours per week for the 3 year duration of the apprenticeship. The employer pays the salary, and up to 10% of the costs of the training depending on whether they pay the apprenticeship levy or not – levy payers pay 10%, non-levy payers pay 5%. The Level 6 Integrated Youth Worker Degree Apprenticeship costs £20,000 over 3 years, meaning the most that employers are liable for is £2000 over 3 years. However there are several organisation wishing to transfer their levy to pay for Youth Work training, which may reduce the costs further. Employers must also agree to their apprentice taking 1/5 of their time for off-the-job training, and will sign an agreement with the training provider outlining how the relationship will be managed, which organisation will be responsible for which learning outcomes and so on. We envisage the earliest a new training provider will be able to offer the apprenticeship locally will be September 2023. There will be support/advice available for organisations wishing to employ apprentices and needing help with the process.
Please remember, individual places do make a difference, so please be as accurate and realistic in your responses as possible – Thank you!
