Lintriggs, Falkirk

Online Survey

being undertaken by Ironside Farrar Ltd on behalf of Falkirk Council
Aiming to address pedestrian safety, increased anti-social behaviour and improving the appearance of this busy area of Falkirk town centre, Falkirk Council are looking to undertake Public Realm improvements to the lower Lintriggs and Newmarket Street area.

Funded via the Scottish Government’s Town Centre Capital Fund the proposals incorporate 3 projects into one, reducing the disruption period in the town centre and keeping the town open for business, visits and shopping.

Before we finalise our plans, we are keen to hear from local people to make sure we are doing all we can to address issues and support the town.  Please take a few minutes to look at the plans, read the our proposals and let us know your thoughts here.
We have  developed proposals to improve safety at Newmarket Street's bus stops including:-
1.The removal of one bus stop from outside Asda to improve visibility for pedestrians at crossing points and better access to kerb side for buses. Do you agree with this?
2.Introduction of an additional bus stop on the southern side of the street adjacent to the Old Parish Church boundary will minimise queuing of buses. Do you agree with this?
3.The steps between Upper and Lower Newmarket Street will be closed off to remove the conflict that is created here with pedestrians crossing. Do you agree with this?
The Proposals will:-
4.Use high quality and fully accessible natural stone surfacing in line with the Town’s existing materials palette. Do you agree with this approach?
5.Use consistent quality street furniture, iron work and street lighting columns, making reference to the existing recent Town Centre heritage improvements (2017-18). Do you agree with this approach?
6.Reduce nuisance/anti-social behaviour issues through design. Do you agree with this approach?
7.Improve external lighting. Do you agree with this approach?
8.Repair the walkways, road and other hard landscaping. Do you agree with this approach?
9.Enhance landscaping features in Newmarket Street. Do you agree with this approach?
10.Improve the physical appearance of this busy area of town to improve the town centre experience for visitors, shoppers businesses and residents. Do you agree with this approach?
