A new vision for partnership in Bristol

Currently in Bristol we have a number of different multi-agency Boards which are all dedicated to partnership working, but with different responsibilities. These include The Bristol Safeguarding Adults Board (BSAB), the Safer Bristol Partnership (SBP), The Bristol Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) and the Children and Families Partnership Board (CFPB). You can read more about these Boards here

More and more we are finding that the four Boards are working on issues that cross all four groups. The core partners which make up these Boards decided to look at all the arrangements and concluded that we could work together better by merging them all into a single partnership board.

This means that the members of the ‘Executive’ Board will be responsible for ensuring that services meet their statutory responsibilities and are safe and effective for the citizens in Bristol. The Board will have an Independent Chair to co-ordinate the decision making, and it is also proposed that the Board will task local groups to undertake specific work and share work across the South West region.

We believe that doing this will have the following benefits:

  • We will have clearer oversight of crucial issues affecting the city
  • We will be able to better tackle issues that affect adults AND children such as criminal exploitation
  • We will be able to better work with communities to develop solutions to affecting residents
  • We will be able to improve how we support people who might transition from one service to another, such as from child to adult care
  • We will make better use of public funds by using resources in a joined up way.

This survey is to find out your views on the changes and ask what you think the priorities should be. You can fill this in on your own or with the support of a carer or a professional, and it should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. If you require this questionnaire in Easy Read or a different format, please contact 0117 35 76257 or bsab@bristol.gov.uk.
