At St Stephen's C of E Primary School we are fortunate to have an outdoor swimming pool used by the pupils for swimming lessons and available for private hire by the wider community.
We have a plan to upgrade our facilities by enclosing the pool and creating a new changing room block allowing us to extend our opening hours and accommodate local groups and the wider community who are unable to use the facility as an outdoor pool.
The school have set aside almost £40,000 to fund this project. Additionally, our fantastic parents' group have raised in excess of £10,000 to date. Our plan is to raise additional funds through continued fund raising, donations and grants. However, before we can apply successfully for grants, from organisations such as Sport England and the London Marathon Trust, we first need to have evidence that our project to enclose the swimming pool will increase activity levels in :
People who are currently inactive or have low levels of activity,
Groups which are currently physically inactive or who have low levels of activity,
Children and young people outside of school hours.
