Introduction

Wall and stonework repairs

Essential stonework repairs to Sims Clock in Russell Street, and walls in Bank Gardens, Daisy Bank and Spider Lane and Bisley Old Road allotments are due to commence this year. The Town Council are seeking public support for a Public Works Loan of £140,000 to spread the cost of carrying out these repairs over 10 years. The loan repayments will result in an annual increase in the precept of 1.76% or £10,918.20 (equivalent to an annual council tax increase of £2.54 per band D household), subject to confirmation of the loan rate applicable. Without a loan the cost would all fall in one year which would increase the precept by 22.5% (equivalent to an annual council tax increase of £32.55 per band D household).
