Ealing Council's central procurement unit, the Commercial Hub, is embarking on an outreach programme to support small local companies and organisations with a view to providing practical guidance and advice on how to sell to the Council – hopefully assisting with breaking down the barriers that exist or are believed to exist.
 
We are investigating the most appropriate forms of guidance and support that we can offer on some of the more common areas relating to procurement and tendering. In support of our Council Plan commitments and our Social Value Policy, the Commercial Hub is reviewing its procurement practices to help open up public procurement opportunities to local small and medium-sized businesses. 
 
To help create simpler and more accessible commercial processes whilst remaining compliant with public procurement regulations is not easy.
