About the research
This research project explores female experiences of working in the field of public relations in the UK during the 1990s.
The decade saw an expanding and feminised workforce in PR and some of the challenges and opportunities this presented are explored in this project.
The aim of this multiphase project is to provide insight into the historic context of sex, sexuality, and sexism in the PR career and work landscape.
PHASE 1:
This survey looks at gender equality, empowerment and attitudes. Each of these concepts are explored in turn by asking you to reflect on your experiences in the same three areas:
1. Pay, career and roles.
2. Identity, dress and sexual norms.
3. Emotions, socialisation and needs.
