Public Spaces Protection Order - Restricted Access Gating |
Consultation 2020
Swale Borough Council is consulting on extending and reviewing the current Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO). This will allow the Council to introduce a range of measures to address anti-social behaviour (ASB) issues and help to improve community safety and the local environment in this area.
Swale Borough Council introduced a PSPO to gate and restrict access to the alley way in 2017 (marked blue on the map below) and gates positioned at the points marked with red stars.
The effect of the Order was to restrict the access over the highway highlighted below by the installation of lockable gates which shall remain locked for 24 hours of the day except for private access and for the purposes of cleaning, maintenance and emergency access.
