Parents know that food is important to help children grow and develop, therefore when parents are unable to feed their child this causes stress and worry. Children who are admitted to a Paediatric Intensive Care unit (PICU) are often very unwell and unable to drink and eat as usual and need liquid feed given through a tube into the stomach or intravenously (PN).

We want to know what questions you feel are important for research to answer. Questions can be related to any aspect of children’s feeding and drinking during and after an admission to PICU.

The questions you submit will help future research focus on the most important issues raised by parents, caregivers, children and health care professionals to improve care and outcomes for children and parents.

Remember research can cover a wide variety of subjects, so anything you think of will be of interest. This is your chance to be heard.

This survey will take about 10 minutes to complete.

We want to hear from you if you are (or used to be):
•A healthcare professional that takes care of children on a PICU
•A parent or caregiver to a child who was hospitalised on a PICU
•A young person who was hospitalised on a PICU

Will my answers be kept confidential?
The information collected as part of this survey is anonymous, meaning we do not know who you are.

What will happen to the questions raised in this survey?
- Your questions will be checked to see if they have been answered by existing research.
- Unanswered questions will be taken into a second survey which will be shared widely with patients, caregivers and health professionals. In this survey participants will choose their most important questions to form the ‘Top 10 Research Questions’.
