Wirral Council is proposing to increase its Council Tax Support Scheme to help more low-income households with their Council Tax.
The proposals would see the requirement for around 9,000 low-income households to pay at least 22% of their Council Tax reduced to 12%.
Pensioners and other protected groups are unaffected by this proposal.
