PTS People's Choice Awards 2022

This is your chance to vote for the winners of the PTS Awards 2022 in the PTS People's Choice Award. Votes open on 29th November and close on Wednesday 7th December. * 1. Who do you think should be the Ambassador of the Year? This award is to celebrate those who are actively promoting the trade and the hobby in new, creative ways. Please select just one winner.

John Davies. Stamp Active. For bringing school groups to Stampex for the first time for many years

Suzanne Rae. Art Stamped / MD PTS. She goes above and beyond and makes me feel embarrassed that I did not do as much when I was chair.

Martin Townsend. He is most helpful when purchasing that much sort after but expensive item, enabling collectors who require time to pay

Bill Barrell. He is very fair and does a great deal to help and promote the hobby. Helpful with excellent communication skills. Bill Barrell for his continued contributions in articles and videos, as well as actively supporting the PTS at Stamp Shows like CAPEX and Cape Town.

Cover Story. Amazing people. They build up a clientelle base and do look for new items for their clients. They always get top notch material. Not just about the business, but the personal attention to advanced collector's needs - they seem to always surprise me where on earth do they get such good material always.

Tony Hender. Arun Stamps. Knowledge of GB stamps as s dealer, always helpful and represents the PTS in many ways, a truly good man who has extensive knowledge

Mark Bloxham. Always has so much time to speak to collectors and always happy to share his extensive knowledge.

The PTS Council. For the time that they put in voluntarily and the work that they do in promoting the hobby.

Tony Shields. Shield Stamps & Coin. Shields Stamps and Coins has actively embraced various social media platforms to connect collectors to philatelic services.

Erwyn Rentzenbrink. Joy of Stamps. Erwyn from Joy of Stamps has created a new a fresh website which stands out. He has also worked closely with eBay championing the hobby.

Terry Barnett. For engaging with China focussed social media to boost attendance from young collectors at his Liverpool Fair.

* 2. Who do you think should be Legacy champion of the Year? To celebrate those who are actively investing in knowledge sharing and retention for the future. OPEN TO NON PTS MEMBERS.

John Simper. Philatelovely. John creates a philatelic dynamic on my network. John is an amazing advocate for the philatelic community. When he started his Philatelovely group with the expectation of getting maybe 20 members, he now is at 116 (at the time of writing). He sends out over 7000 stamps per month to members in 30 countries who are signed up to his Patreon. His social media presence covers all the bases, with his A-Z daily stamp topic being especially popular! He also offers a fantastic Etzy shop where users can purchase stamps and related products at extremely reasonable prices. If a user cannot get the information from John it is sure that someone in the group will have it! From the complete novice to the "stamp professors" Philatelovely is an amazing resource for any collector.

Richard Philatelist. His promotion of the hobby via his YouTube channel and Twitter field, always interesting, questioning and positive. Richard has promoted a whole new group of collectors to engage with the hobby through #Xtremephilately and his YouTube videos.

John Davies. Stamp Active. There has been an extensive range of youth activities, including the Kids Zone at Stampex with free activities and auction, stamp activity books, stamp collecting guide, competitions and free postal club to bring young people into the hobby.

Gary Loew. Gary creates reliability and philatelic constancy

Jack Preuveneers. Jack has been a big member of the online philatelic community. He is a becon of knowledge and supports young collectors. Always supporting young philatelists and helping the hobby.

Royal Philatelic Society, London. They have an expertising team, an extensive library and museum and members worldwide.

Maurice Porter. Researches Auction Purchases for Dealers, always correct in any field of philately, creates unique files from his research.

Maurice Buxton. GBPS. The GBPS website provides more information than any other and goes well beyond the stamps of Great Britain.

Clube Filatelico de Portugal (CFP). Great club, superb magazine, amazing auctions, fabulous material always available for grabs. An honour to be a club member.

Bill Barrell. Nothing too much trouble

Graham Wilson. For his dedicated research into British philatelic exhibition souvenir sheets, labels, booklets, postcards and covers for the production of the eagerly awaited 5th edition of the Glenn H Morgan and Graham M Wilson on the subject.

James Gavin. The Digital Philatelist. For helping establish and share content creators in philately.

Postcrossing. They are championing the concept of collecting and highlight the history of postcards each year in a new and different way. Targeting a younger audience.

Constanze Dennis, Grosvenor. She does a great deal to promote the hobby, helps collectors extensively and actively encourages new philatelists

Simon Peetoom. AfricaStamps. For actively encouraging stamp societies to use social media to engage with wider audiences, and to use tools to share displays and knowledge more widely.

* 3. Who do you think should be PTS Contributor of the Year? To celebrate those who are actively contributing to the success of the society outside of the immediate Team and Council

Mark Harvey. I have dealt with Mark for over 10 years. He has always strictly adhered to the valid and ethos of the PTS- honestly, integrity, knowledge, and helpfulness. In reflecting these core PTS values, he has made me aware of and very grateful for the vital role you play in ensuring the efficient and ethical functioning of the stamp business and in giving me complete confidence in dealers such as Mark who are PTS members.

Malcolm Copp. Listens to customers and passes on knowledge & Information. Always a pleasure to associate with him- makes collecting a pleasure.

* 4. Who do you think should win Creative Concept of the Year? To celebrate the best in innovations within philately – for the trade and the hobby

Stamp Active. New schools presentation and activities at Stampex including talk, hands-on activities (activity sheet, stamp art and auction) and tour of Stampex

Buckingham Covers. Their London 2022 Souvenir card featuring the David Gentleman miniature sheet (https://www.buckinghamcovers.com/products/view/19665-the-art-of-david-gentleman-london- 2022-stamp-show.php). Royal Mail featured six stamps he had designd we added all the other values onto this special presentation card. We even added the values featured on the miniature onto the reverse. Their stamp stand at Comic Con showed where the hobby can be if it embraced new and exciting ideas.

StampAuctionNetwork. For proposing a new Stampex Online Marketplace offer to bring Stampex to collectors all around the world, and exposing our PTS Members to new clients.

Bill Barrell Ltd. Sharing techniques: example of the take-off of 4 Black Pennies and the hydrogen peroxide cleaning treatment.
