Background to the Sector Response

The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges intend to submit a sector response to the consultation on the review of the QAA Quality Code, to ensure that adequate attention is given to ensuring that learners are developing the skills they need to address the sustainability challenges of the future. We would value your input to ensure the response presents a good representation of the views of our contacts.

Scottish responses to this survey will be shared with Learning for Sustainability Scotland, who will be developing a Scottish-focused response. If you work in Scotland but do not wish your response to be shared in this way please select this option when asked.

Please also consider submitting an individual or organisational response directly to the Consultation. You can find the Consultation Documents here.

Consultation Background from QAA Website:

The UK Standing Committee for Quality Assessment (UKSCQA) is consulting on a new approach to the Expectations of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. The consultation seeks to ensure that the Quality Code remains the cornerstone for quality in UK higher education, that it protects the public and student interest, and that it maintains the UK’s world-leading reputation for quality in higher education.

The consultation proposes reform from the highest level, starting with new, streamlined sector expectations. It is designed to involve the sector at every stage, initially in the development of these expectations then in the longer term development of the code.

The official Consultation documents are available here. You will need to refer to these when responding to this survey.
