Scottish Carer's Assistance - Payment When a Cared for Adult Goes into Hospital or Residential Care

1.The Scottish Government wants to continue to pay the new Carer's Assistance Payment for 12 weeks after a cared for adult goes into hospital or residential care.

As it stands the current Carer's Allowance is paid for only 4 weeks under these circumstances.
