Green Earth Schools: Expression of Interest

About Green Earth Schools

Through our FREE Green Earth Schools programme, children, young people and educators will learn about the environmental challenges facing our planet with a focus on urban spaces, and explore Nature-Based Solutions. Pupils will then be given the creative platform to re-design and re-build their own school grounds, enriching pupil engagement, and enhancing green skills in solutions-based thinking and leadership.

We help students build a strong connection to nature and use their voices to drive creative solutions to environmental challenges. These skills and experiences are essential in creating inclusive pathways to the green careers that are needed to tackle the climate crisis.

* 1. We are seeking to bring Green Earth Schools to schools who meet the following guidance criteria. Please indicate below if you meet criteria 1-5. If you are unsure if you meet the criteria, or would like further information, please get in touch at education@earthwatch.org.uk 

1. State school in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland offering EYFS – KS5 and/or special provision.

2. School is based in an urban area. (Areas forming settlements with populations of over 10,000 are urban, as defined by ONS urban area boundaries based upon land use).

3. School is based in an area experiencing high levels of deprivation, and/or receiving above average Pupil Premium (Pupil Equity Fund Scotland).

4. If selected, school can provide a letter of support from Senior Leadership Team to take part in Green Earth Schools.
