NBC News|SurveyMonkey poll: most don’t trust Trump on his health

Just 38% of people in the U.S. say they trust what President Trump has said about his health after testing positive for the coronavirus, while just more than half (52%) do not trust what he has said. More than nine in 10 Democrats and Democratic leaners say they don’t trust him, as do a majority (59%) of independents.

Republicans and GOP leaners stand clearly behind the president: 82% say they trust what he has said about his health after testing positive.

Those numbers are even more divided along partisan lines than when we asked a similar question in our NBC/SurveyMonkey weekly tracking poll in September and more than half of people overall (52%), but just 14% of Republicans, 88% of Democrats, and 55% of independents said they did not trust what President Trump had said about a vaccine for the coronavirus.

This week, much like last week, about three quarters of people (74%) say the coronavirus has had a very or fairly major impact on their family day to day life.
