Small business owners are undeniably confident in their prospects for the next year, according to the first CNBC|SurveyMonkey Small Business Confidence Index.
A majority of small business owners describe current conditions for their business as “middling” (51%) or “good” (38%), and only 11% think things are “bad.” Over the course of the next 12 months, 55% of small business owners think their business’s revenue will increase and 36% think it will stay the same. Only 9% think their revenue will decrease. In the same time period, 27% of small business owners expect to increase their staff of full-time employees, and 63% think their staff levels will not change. Only 7% expect to decrease their staff in the next year.
