LeanIn.Org|SurveyMonkey poll: wellbeing and work among women during the COVID-19 outbreak

A new LeanIn.Org|SurveyMonkey poll finds women are living with concern for the well-being of their loved ones, worries about being able to pay their bills, and negative physical symptoms at greater rates than men related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Women are much more likely to have experienced the following than men:

  • Trouble sleeping or slept too much  (52% women vs. 32% men)
  • Hold concerns about the well-being of loved ones (62% women vs. 52% men)
  • Experience severe anxiety  (25% women vs. 11% men)

When it comes to support employers are providing, fully 40% say they work for companies who go above and beyond with support, and 31% have someone checking in on their well-being, but this is not universal; just 20% of black women get this support from their employers.
